1. Please update the appearance to be in line with iOS 26’s new Liquid Glass.2. Give Third Rock Radio its own app. If not, add a feature that lets it play in the background while browsing the NASA app. In its current state, it stops playing if you swipe out of it. Leaving the app fully lets it keep playing which is cool but it stops while still in the app.If I have any other suggestion, I’ll update my review.
I really like space and my favorite space picture is of the Perseus galaxy cluster. And the mission I revisited most recently was Cassini, and the fact that it ended by diving into Saturn made me cry because the mission gave us pretty pictures, and there was even a song cover about the mission in a video about it, but I cried because I didn’t want it to end. I really hope we visit Saturn again at some point, because I love the pictures of it and I hope to see more of them! I also have a few suggestions about where to point Webb next: the Crab Nebula, some galaxy clusters, and hopefully you release a thanksgiving picture! Hopefully any new missions that are currently getting started are successful!
At 50 years old, I grew up in the second great era of our nations’s space agency. The time of that absolutely stunning and beautiful workhorse, “The Space Shuttle”. I fell fell in love with it, mourned with it and always believed in it. That technological marvel, lit the fire within me to believe that one day, maybe even in my lifetime, an average person would be able to reach the stars. Now many years later, I look back on it nostalgically and it makes me smile. I am excited to see what humanity’s future holds with NASA courageously pushing the unknown frontier. Being able to view the earth, from the ISS, which was put in orbit by the “Space Shuttle Program”, from my handheld touchscreen computer/communicator, while dictating to it as it responds to my queries, was 100% science-fiction when I was 12 years old. With out a doubt, NASA has continuously satisfied my inner desire, to see science-fiction, become reality! This app, being part of that system which makes it all possible, is more than just a link to a technological marvel. It’s a window, into a legacy of great minds, brave explores and heroes, that not only empowered our nation, but has empowered humankind. Thank you, to all The Trailblazers of the past, the present and the future; I can only imagine what the next 50 years is going to bring.
From the beginning of the NASA program we have a new way of exploring our minds of what’s outside our planet. We read that the Babylonians were building a wall to the sky. We learned aircraft’s could adventure above the clouds but through NASA we have went beyond the circle. From the sixties to today many generations have explored greater ideals of planets, moons, and craters. Thank you NASA for satellites, countries uniting, and education in so many forms. When we put the first man on the moon our imagination ran wild. Believing that we would be living as the cartoon “ the Jetsons” or exploring space meeting aliens as Star Trek or Star Wars. Even possibilities as ET introducing their kind to us earthlings. Through NASA we have explored the outer limits of space and many things inside. We have through NASA explored our depths of oceans finding new species that we now know exist. Thank you to NASA for the opportunities for our imagination to go beyond and the education to keep exploring the galaxy and our planet. There is so much more to explore from when NASA started to today and the future generation to add. It’s a galaxy of worlds unexplored also waters of the unknown. Overwhelming opportunities for now and future generations through the world of NASA. Thank You NASA!!
I love this app full of endless amounts of information about new discoveries in space, what's new from NASA, fantastic photos from the Hubble telescope from deep space that has never been seen before as well as satellite missions, launches, live feeds, ISS missions and crew communications and docking for crew exchange, NASA news and tv, tweets from the NASA experts, and events to watch the sky for, even comets and meteor opportunities to plan for, you can even learn how to become a NASA employ. There is no end to the many varieties of information about our planet and those we may someday inhabit or once was inhabited that NASA has to offer the world. They don't hold back anything exciting, scary, amazing, or never imagined. Too Cool. Take a class or browse the many mind blowing discoveries no matter how you view it you won't be disappointed!
Please make a button on the Home Screen to quickly navigate to the Augmented Reality (AR) SkyView iOS module. It seems to have disappeared with the latest major app upgrade. When I used it previously, I was floored at the level of detail and usefulness of that incredible feature in a prior version of the app. I was able to share with kids and neighbors where planets in our solar system were located in the night sky, which made me seem much smarter and interesting than I am! And it instantaneously helped many other space fans achieve a higher understanding of the amazing network of a vast, spectacular array of heavenly bodies right before our eyes… in real time! The NASA app is still my go-to when first waking up to set the tone for my day by putting life’s challenges in perspective. And I love seeing super high res images of our Earth and majesty of the universe.
We have just released an updated and improved NASA app version 5.1.0 that has Sky View again. Please check the app store on your device and update to this latest version.Best regards,NASA App Support Team
