Last week the first International AI Summit took place, marking an important moment for global AI governance. During the summit the IEC, ISO - International Organization for Standardization and the International Telecommunication Union issued the Seoul Statement on AI, reinforcing their shared commitment to advancing safe, inclusive and effective international standards for AI. The statement sets out a joint vision and commitments from the three organizations on how International Standards will support the development and deployment of trustworthy AI systems that benefit society, drive innovation and uphold fundamental rights. Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/evxz24mP With the release of the Seoul Statement, the message is clear: the time to act is now. As AI rapidly reshapes our world, we must take a socio-technical approach and ensure people remain at the centre of this transformation. Standards are essential tools for responsible AI, but implementation cannot rest with standards bodies alone. Industry, regulators, companies and policymakers must work together to embed socio-technical considerations into products, policies and governance frameworks. The IEC is committed to this mission. The Seoul Statement is both a call to action and a commitment to advancing safe, inclusive and trustworthy AI for all. #SeoulStatement #IAISS2025 #IECEmergingTech #AIEthics #TrustworthyAI #ResponsibleAI #GlobalCollaboration #Innovation Thank you to all the speakers, contributors and participants who helped make this Summit such a success!
