Congratulations, e-Residency Estonia! Bravo, 11 beautiful years! It mirrors my timing here in Estonia, same 11 years. When I first time heard of e-Residency Estonia program, I couldn't have possibly imagined what it turns to become. How much of help, success, how much investments, how much taxes, how many businesses opened, effort of how many man-hours, how many international relations and people believed in it and have joined the program as promoters, as enterpreneurs, a big family of free expats and locals have come together to make it work. One very kind person introduced me the program back in 2015. At that point, I only started my journey here in Estonia. I had my studies ongoing at the Tallinn School of Economics (Tallinna Majanduskool). In 2015 how not ready I was for what's to come. When I think about it, it wouldn't be possible for me to join the program and promote it since 2015. Why? Simply because I had to figure everything out by myself, to learn and to test it, to get more local practical experiences in my profession, to try the system working in progress and face the results. And in 5 years I was ready to begin. I felt the inner itch and push, a potential converted into the energy to join the program, like it was the very right thing to do for me. I felt like I belong there, that's my place to be. So, it became personal. Now, I feel related to the program more than ever. Who could expect that? =) What you believe the most is your path. Follow it, go your way in your own tempo as long as you stay true to your inner feeling about it. And as always, the e-Residency Estonia program will be there to support your interesting developments in your beautiful journey. #eResidency #eResidencyEstonia #eResidencyEstonia11years

Happy 11th birthday to e-Residency and to every member of our global community. 🎉 We're genuinely grateful you're on this journey with us. It's hard to believe how quickly these years have passed. To celebrate, we've put together a wrapped-like summary of e-Residency's first 11 years, highlighting the growth, reach, and impact you've helped create. A few insights from the summary: 💙 132,000+ e-residents worldwide today, with some countries rising fast in the rankings. 🖤 In 2025, we saw 11,200 new e-residents come in, which was a 16% increase compared to last year's numbers. We're grateful for the trust! 🤍 Germany led 2025 growth, with a 54% increase in applications. Germany now ranks 2nd among countries of origin. Danke! 💡 The top industry all-time for e-Residency companies remains IT, especially computer programming and consultancy. Head office activities take second place, and retail trade rounds out the top three. But enough teasing. You want more interesting data about e-Residency? Check out the full post! In fact, take a really good look at it, because in it, you'll find new elements of our brand new e-Residency kit style, so all the more reason to become our next e-resident! 😉 Here's to more highflying years of e-Residency! 🚀

  • What if the smartest move isn't optimising but rebuilding? When Zoku saw business travel failing the very people it served, they didn't tweak the old template, they started over. One shower idea became 150 interviews, 7 prototypes, and an "upside-down hotel" built around belonging rather than spreadsheets. 💬 What's one thing in your industry you'd rebuild from scratch? In this Winning Friends episode, Veerle Donders joins hosts Logan Merrick and Dylan Hey to walk through the choices that turned insight into a business: questioning assumptions, prototyping with users, designing for connection, and shipping what people actually need. 🎧 Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/deNHdwBe

  • One of the coolest startup-minded business festivals in Estonia is getting closer and closer. sTARTUp Day 2026 on 28-30 January is waiting for you to celebrate entrepreneurship in the smart city of Tartu, Estonia! 🇪🇪 💡 If you've been deliberating when to visit Estonia, this might just be your answer! Use the special e-Residency discount code "E-RESIDENCY20" to secure your festival ticket, and don't pass up on the opportunity to come learn about the startup-minded country, Estonia. Raimo Matvere from the e-Residency team will also be there – since he works closely with startups, support organisations, accelerators, and service providers that help e-residents build their startups in Estonia and globally, he will be the perfect person to talk to about e-Residency. You will also catch him on stage moderating a panel about some hidden and forgotten corners of the startup world – don't miss it! As sTARTUp Day's one big focus is also on inspiring founder stories, then we're happy to announce two e-residents whose stories you will get to listen to and enjoy! 👉 Dejan Davidovic, co-founder of Kriptomat, whose goal was to build a family life in his home country, Slovenia, while growing a business in a startup-friendly country, Estonia – and he succeeded. 👉 Julia Bialetska, co-founder of S.Lab, where they produce 100% biodegradable packaging, combining two plant-based components, agricultural waste and mycelium. If you're all about making mistakes and learning from them, teamwork, pivoting when needed, having a bias towards action, continuous growth and daring to dream without limits – see you in Tartu! 😉👋

Thank you #LatAm! 💙 10 days. 6 flights. 28000 km. Two e-Estonia Fuckup Nights. And over 350 people who showed up with curiosity, ambition and big dreams. We just wrapped our LatAM tour from Buenos Aires 👉🏽 Santiago, and what a ride it was! 🇦🇷🇨🇱 In Buenos Aires we met 270 participants at Tecweek Buenos Aires, shared why #Estonia is the world’s most #digitalsociety, talked IT & engineering opportunities, startup visas, e-Residency… and made a lot of new friends! Then Santiago welcomed us with 120 participants, fresh energy and a thriving startup community ready to connect. We were super happy to hear how many people already knew Estonia and wanted to learn more about building a #techcareer or a #startup here. Suddenly, LatAM didn’t feel far at all. 🌍💙 Special shoutout to Martin Henk, Pipedrive co-founder, for sharing his legendary “failed pet network to Pipedrive” story! People seemed genuinely excited to hear Estonia created Skype, Wise, Bolt, Playtech, Veriff etc. 💥 Thank you all who came to connect. See you next time, LatAM. We’re definitely coming back!

  • It was a pleasure to meet founders and startup supporters on our visit to Argentina and Chile this month. We also got acquainted with e-residents, new and old (and even the very first ever Chilean e-resident of Estonia, Felipe Ernst)! ⭐️ 🇦🇷 Our first stop was Buenos Aires, where we: 👉 Attended Tecweek Buenos Aires 👉 Co-hosted a Fuckup Nights event with Fuckup Nights Buenos Aires 👉 Met brand-new e-residents picking up their cards from the e-Residency mobile pickup point in Buenos Aires 🇨🇱 Later, in Santiago, we: 👉 Co-hosted a Fuckup Nights side-event of Chile Tech Week 2025 👉 Met founders and the team from Start-Up Chile – as Startup Estonia celebrates 10 years in 2025, we were happy to cheers to your 15th anniversary! You continue to serve as an inspiration 👏 We were happy to hear that so many local entrepreneurs already know about e-Residency, like the long-time consultant in Buenos Aires who uses it to service clients across Europe. 💡 Or the digital nomad expat who decided to apply after hearing about Estonia's competitive tax system and wanted to expand his options to start a global business. It was inspiring to hear growth stories from the Startup Chile network, who are thinking beyond borders from the start (a familiar mindset to Estonian founders). We hope we met some future unicorns, and we'd love to make e-Residency part of your journeys! Don't forget to call us 😉 A big thank you to Pepe Villatoro and Fuckup Nights for co-hosting an enlightening event series with us, as well as our special guest speaker, Martin Henk, co-founder of the Estonian unicorn Pipedrive. Thank you to Buenos Aires City Government and Start-Up Chile for warmly welcoming us into your startup ecosystems. With great entrepreneurship initiatives like yours, bright things are on the horizon! 🌎🚀

What does it mean to feel successful? Pepe Villatoro has built companies, lost them, and built again. Along the way, he realised that chasing security often costs the very thing you're working for – your life. In this Winning Friends conversation, the Fuckup Nights' co-founder talks about redefining success around purpose, energy, and alignment, not endless growth. His story is a reminder that building a meaningful business starts with designing a meaningful life. 💬 How do you find balance in your work? 🎧 Winning Friends is our monthly podcast about how entrepreneurs build borderless businesses, win customers, and grow by failing better, hosted by Dylan Hey and Logan Merrick. 👉 Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/d-KpAPJY
