Product Marketers... Designers and PMs aren't the only ones who can rapid prototype. In fact I think PMMs are super well suited to do this! A few weeks ago I used Lovable to turn a positioning idea into a simple working prototype. It quickly got to our CEO and a couple of days later it was in a quarterly planning deck. It's now in production! I've done a version of this in the past, maybe once or twice. And it took quarters to make it happen. It took hours of positioning workshops and and long docs and alignment meetings. It took me maybe 10 minutes to build the prototype in Lovable. In five steps, here’s a simple way for CRO / experimentation to better align with your stakeholders and product teams. 🤝 1️⃣ Start by asking: “What customer problems are you trying to solve?” Or: “What opportunities are you exploring?” 2️⃣ Document those problems and opportunities in your experimentation tool (like Airtable) 📝 (see image for an example) 3️⃣ Run experiments linked to those problems or opportunities and tag them accordingly 🧪 4️⃣ Ask to share your insights in an existing meeting, like a sprint review or demo 📊 5️⃣ Don’t present experiment after experiment. Instead, present what you’ve learned about each problem or opportunity, using A/B tests (and user research) as supporting proof. 🌟 Also, present in a language your stakeholders understand. This way, your insights become more relevant to more people and you’re no longer only experimenting in your own silo, making your work a lot more fun.

Perhaps the best thing that can happen to a talented & ambitious product person before mid-career is to get to work closely with someone who’s operating at the top of the craft on product strategy and true customer empathy. This significantly raises the ceiling of what they thought was possible in product. When combined with some humility (which is not as common as you’d think), the recognition of this much higher ceiling can meaningfully lift the rest of one’s career trajectory.

Traditional planning is out. Fast product cycles are in. Even if you create Product which is equivalent of Silver Bullet sometimes PMF remains just a dream!
