  • Thanks for the reminder, since zfs send is just a byte stream, you can redirect it to any file and then recv. But I haven't actually tested how to split and transfer large files, so I only gave the backup and restore code. Commented Dec 2, 2024 at 6:42

  • @JimL. Sorry, my mistake, it should be zpool create zroot.backup /dev/sda in a new disk, or like @kusalananda say zroot/backup Commented Dec 3, 2024 at 7:04
