Team Competitions

Team Competitions

Each year JPL encourages the academic growth and development of local high school students by sponsoring challenging academic competitions in the areas of math, science and engineering. These highly important disciplines must be mastered by each generation of students in order for the United States to maintain its position as the world leader in science and technology research and development.

To promote students' development in these important fields, JPL hosts regional events for the following competitions:

  • National Science Bowl ®
  • National Ocean Sciences Bowl ®
  • FIRST Robotics Competition
  • JPL Invention Challenge

The students who participate in these competitions exemplify the spirit of discovery and quest for excellence that spur our nation's advances in science and technology.
