I am excited to welcome new members to the Black in AI board! Alondra Nelson and Natalye Paquin, joining our Board of Directors, and William Isaac and Rashida Richardson, joining our Advisory Board, are incredibly accomplished leaders who will help guide BAI into a new phase of growth and paradigm-changing action. As a board member for many years, it has been deeply gratifying to see how quickly we’ve been able to translate a grassroots movement into a dynamic, highly effective organization that is having an impact across the country and around the world. So far, our efforts have included: * Expanding our professional association, which now has more than 6000 members from 117 countries. * Supporting over 800 students through our education & career pathways, with 75% of participants accepted to leading graduate programs. * Leading efforts to increase visibility of AI practitioners (of African descent) by supporting 600+ professionals from 40 countries to travel to NeurIPS.
