Black Friday has become Black November. Fatigue is setting in, and so are the post purchase feelings 😮💨 With extended offers and cost-of-living pressures, the landscape looks a little different this year While the numbers here are predictions, they closely reflect real shopper behaviors. And yes, “forgot to return it” is more common than you’d think (you aren’t alone 👀) Do any of these feel familiar? We'd love to hear if you have a regret or win from Black Friday

You asked, and Oli Darley delivered. Swipe for a behind-the-scenes look at the settings that brought this scatterplot artwork to life 🎨 Here’s Oli’s creative process, broken into 3 key phases: 1. Sketch the idea: on paper or use Canva for quick mockups. It all begins with a strong concept 2. Prep the data: load your data into the scatterplot template and tweak the column bindings to match your design 3. Fine-tune the details: adjust the points, labels, colors, background etc to bring your vision to life What should we create next? Let us know in the comments or tag us, we’re here to help 🤝

This dataset is a powerful reminder: time is always moving, and so are the people in it 🫶 These line charts, created by María Fernanda Callejón, explore who Americans physically spend the most time with as they age. They reveal how our social circles shift, starting with family, peaking with partners, kids, and coworkers, then tapering into solitude later in life Not living in America? How do you think your country compares? 📊 Laid out in a grid of line charts for easy comparison 🔍 Explore the visualization here https://lnkd.in/eFjje77E

Charmyne Mamador from our team dropped a cosmic twist for the #30DayMapChallenge — a 3D map showing 100,000+ stars reimagined. It’s a playful experiment with a powerful visual punch ✨🌍 Are you participating in the #30DayMapChallenge? Continue to tag Flourish, we love seeing what you create 👏
🌌 #30DayMapChallenge – Day 6: Dimensions My mind jumped from “dimensions” to “multiple dimensions” to “Interstellar” to “Star Trek” — and eventually to “what if I map the stars?” ✨ So I did. 🙂 This is an experiment to visualize over 100,000 stars and some constellations — transforming celestial positions into a lat–lon equivalents. Some star clusters and constellations are like glowing cities, while others sprawl like rivers of light. The more you zoom in, the more you see. 🌠 📊 Data: HYG Star Database (CC BY-SA 4.0) 📊 Data: D3-Celestial Constellation Lines (BSD 3-Clause License) ⚙️ Processing: Python 🪐 Map made with Flourish #DataViz #Astronomy #Geospatial #Python #OpenData #Cartography #StarMap #Constellations #30DayMapChallenge #DataStorytelling #DataArt #Astrophysics #Visualization #ScienceCommunication #STEM #MapDesign #Space

Who is updating an interest rate chart this week? 👋 In Flourish, you can easily highlight the latest value in your chart with the final dot setting. Ideal for showing interest rates, sales, or inflation where that last number matters most. Lyndsey Pereira-Brereton explains how to add it to your chart with ease. It’s a subtle touch, but a powerful one.
