This is great to see, the MCP specification has been finally donated to The Linux Foundation. This means that we are finally promoting MCP as a de-facto standard to a de-jure standard that every major AI player will adopt. At Kong Inc. we have been strong believers of MCP since day 1, and this news solidifies that together with our customers we were always on the right track to fully commit to the spec and provide the most advanced MCP capabilities in the industry in our AI Gateway. You can learn more about Kong's MCP capabilities at https://lnkd.in/e-6BhUgV The news is at https://lnkd.in/evsWRmtn

This week at #APIDaysParis, I had the opportunity to explain how the Kong AI Gateway helps to govern and secure the GenAI traffic: LLM Models and MCP servers. It improves the security and helps control costs. Plus, I introduced and demoed the https://volcano.dev framework for easily building your own AI Agents for supporting AI Agentic workflow. It's a Kong Inc. open source framework. Following this presentation, I continued the discussion with the audience and AI professionals, like Makina Mind a Human-first AI company --- Cette semaine, lors des #APIDaysParis, j'ai eu l'opportunité d'expliquer comment Kong AI Gateway contribue à gouverner et sécuriser le trafic GenAI : modèles LLM et serveurs MCP.

The excitement around AI agents and MCP is justified, but so is the risk. Many organizations are deploying agents without proper governance, leading to budget surprises and security blind spots. Every action an agent takes is an API call. Uncontrolled, these workflows can lead to runaway token consumption and compliance headaches. "Guidelines" aren't governance. Companies need to enforce policies at the API level before you scale. An AI Gateway provides the critical control point to apply automated guardrails, ensuring you can harness the power of agents without losing control.

🚀 At AWS re:Invent, Kong Inc. and Amazon Web Services (AWS) spotlighted a major shift: governance at the infrastructure layer, not glued on service-by-service. As multi-agent systems pop up everywhere, teams are struggling with fragmented policies, scattered data sources, and what some execs called “un-governance.” Kong’s AI Gateway + AWS alignment aims to give enterprises a single place to enforce guardrails across agents, APIs, microservices, and multi-cloud environments, especially for regulated industries that can’t afford inconsistency. Why it matters: • 68.3% of orgs rank security + compliance as a top priority • 70.1% plan to boost AI/ML adoption • Governance debt is piling up fast If this partnership keeps evolving, it could become a reference pattern for how enterprises standardize AI governance as agent ecosystems move into production.
