Our Woolpack welcomes Amar to Africa! 🌍 It was an honour to host Geospatial Sector Leader and Global Head of Technology and Innovation, Amar Nayegandhi, in South Africa last month. Despite traveling extensively around the globe to visit our firm’s offices, the long flight to our corner of the world did not stop him from bringing his A-game. First stop: Johannesburg! Amar played a pivotal role in engaging both our team and a key client in the world of geospatial technology. Our event was highlighted by a mixture of good food, insightful conversations, and a promising future. “The event highlighted the strength and capability of our Africa production team, earning high praise from our client, who expressed his enthusiasm to continue collaborating with us on future initiatives. We extend our sincere thanks to Amar for representing us at this significant function and reaffirming our unwavering commitment to the project.” – Leon Kettles, Managing Director, Woolpert Africa Next stop: Cape Town! A nice break from rainy Joburg, Amar joined the rest of our team in sunny Cape Town where he presented the latest global trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to geospatial data and high-end aerial sensors. “Amar’s visit was invaluable in being able to meet face to face and to have extensive and engaging discussions on many topics of interest to Woolpert’s presence in Africa. Many strategies were formulated to take Woolpert Africa to new heights in 2026.” – Chris Tanner, Market Director, Woolpert Africa To cap off an incredible week, he joined the Woolpert Africa family at the year-end celebrations in both Johannesburg and Cape Town, strengthening connections and celebrating a successful year together. Thank you for visiting us, Amar. We cannot wait to welcome you back! #WoolpertAfrica #Geospatial #InnovationInAfrica #ArtificialIntelligence #LeadershipInAction

One of the first differences American tourists often notice in Europe is the age of the buildings. However, like every building, these structures deteriorate over time and require constant maintenance. European surveying firms help preserve them through disciplines such as building pathology — the study of why defects occur, why materials degrade, and why structures may not perform as expected. In Kevin Hollingsworth's recent article, learn more about building pathology and how surveying firms can enhance their capabilities with facility condition assessments and geospatial analysis.
