- [Instructor] In this video, I wanted to talk about understanding PDF/UA. The UA in PDF/UA stands for Universal Accessibility and PDF/UA is a recognized standard for identifying if a PDF file is, in fact, accessible and compliant. The PDF/UA standard is a world-recognized standard for PDF accessibility compliance. The PDF/UA standard is an ISO Standard. It's part of ISO Standard 14289-1 and it is a recognized standard, again, for validating and confirming that a PDF document is accessible. The PDF/UA standard differs a bit from the WCAG Standard. Where the WCAG Standard is somewhat theoretical in nature and leaves a lot to interpretation, the PDF/UA Standard is a much more technical standard and the PDF/UA standard offers specific benchmarks that determines if our PDF documents are accessible.
