- Choosing a positive outlook is more likely to help you reach your potential than focusing on what isn't going well in your life. There is however a positivity trap you need to avoid. And that's the idea of blind hope, a concept that has been proven to potentially set you up for a full. Expecting a positive outcome when faced with new or challenging situations is consistently associated with higher levels of resilience and increased feeling of coping effectively and the abilities perform well even in stressful situations.
