Using the Secret Windows Package Manager
- [Presenter] Obtaining new software involves going to a store, virtual or real. In Windows, you can use the Microsoft Store app, which is accessed from the start menu. Pop up the start menu. Type store and open the Microsoft Store. Here is the Microsoft Store. Now, in an operating system like Linux, software is obtained by using a package manager. It has a version that looks like the Microsoft Store for some apps, but also a command line version available for traditional text mode apps. Secretly, Windows offers the same feature. To access the command-line, text mode, Windows Package Manager, you must open an administrator command prompt. Again, from the start menu, pop it up, and type CMD. And then choose this item. Run as administrator. Confirm the user account control. Here's the old command prompt. The only operating system back in the days of MS-DOS.
