- [Instructor] The computer keyboard features two items you can set in windows, which I will demonstrate here in Microsoft Word. I can press and hold the W key. So you see the W, and then a pause, and then a whole bunch of Ws. I'll do it again. Press, delay, repeat. The delay is quick here, and the repeat rate is quick as well, so you may not notice it. But these settings can be customized. Bring up the Start menu and type the word keyboard. Open the keyboard control panel area. Here you see settings for the keyboard, repeat delay and repeat rate. The current settings are kind of short and fast, but if I adjust them, you can see how these are affected. So I can have a long delay with a fast repeat. I'll try again here in the test area.
