- [Instructor] To be a good steward of your planet's resources, you can configure the computer to be efficient in its power consumption. Press the Windows + I keyboard shortcut to bring forth the Settings app. Choose the System category, Power. Choose the Energy recommendations item. Here are several things you can apply to make your PC more energy-efficient. Power users may have disabled some of these features to get the most from their hardware, but doing so is not energy-efficient. While these items are useful, more specific items can be found in the old Control Panel dialog box. Pop up the Start menu, type Control Panel, and open this item Control Panel System.
