- [Instructor] Windows can't eliminate all distractions but it can help you focus on your work to get more done of course, you must demonstrate initial motivation by activating a focus session. Open the settings app. Press the windows I keyboard shortcut from the system category. Choose focus. Set a duration here. Say you need 30 minutes to finish a report, a time during which you don't want the computer to interrupt you with a pop-up notification, alarm or other digital annoyance. So set the timer and then click here to start the focus session. A clock appears letting you know how much time is left in the session. Here you get a five minute reprieve after 20 minutes, regardless nothing else changes much on the screen.
