- [Narrator] One of the critical components of your incident response plan is a communications plan that covers both internal and external communications. A good incident communication plan is a crucial element of stakeholder management. We'll talk more about internal communications later in the course when we discuss incident notification and escalation procedures. Those procedures help ensure that appropriate people within your organization know about an incident at the right time and that they're provided with the right information. Communicating with individuals and groups outside of your organization can be a much trickier task. Clearly, you want to make sure that you're limiting the communication of sensitive information to trusted parties.
