The first thing I'd do is have a good look at the data to understand how the different fields relate to each other, what the products are, what the market sold. On relationships, I worked out the following, sales equals cost of goods sold plus profit. Gross sales is sales plus discounts. Units sold times by the sales price is gross sales. And the last one we know 'cause we made that ourselves, unit sold times by the manufacturing price is the cost of goods sold or COGS. Understanding the data intimately is a crucial first step before you start report building. A report is just a way of communicating data with your audience.
