- Connecting your Raspberry Pi is no different from hooking up a regular computer. You've just got to connect your mouse, your keyboard, and your monitor, and hook it up to power like you would with an ordinary computer. Then you're good to go. So the Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 are really quite similar to look at, and although the position of some ports does move around between the models, they are pretty much the same. So before you proceed, make sure your Raspberry Pi is disconnected from power. We'll connect it again after we've installed the operating system on a microSD card and we've put that SD card in the Pi. So first plug in your keyboard and mouse. Now, I've got wireless keyboard and mouse here, so I've just got dongles. But you'll be doing the same thing with a USB cable if that's what you have. Now for the monitor for Raspberry Pi 4 or 5, you're going to need a micro HDMI cable. They look like this. That goes in that. And next you'll plug in your ethernet cable if you want one…
