Summary

Art-and-design-blogging-strategies refer to the ways artists and designers can craft blog content that highlights their unique brand, educates readers, and attracts new clients or fans. These approaches help creatives connect with their audience by sharing meaningful stories, processes, and experiences beyond simply showcasing finished work.

  • Share your journey: Bring readers behind the scenes by documenting your creative process, personal growth, and the challenges you’ve overcome to build a more relatable brand.
  • Tell authentic stories: Organize your blog around your brand’s values, origin, and client successes to create posts that resonate emotionally and set you apart from generic content.
  • Educate your audience: Blend practical advice, case studies, and insights about design decisions so readers understand not just what you do, but why it matters.

Your brand has a beautiful story. But is your blog telling it? I am working with the founder of a slow-living Ayurvedic skincare brand. He has the most powerful story, rooted in ritual, healing, and legacy. But for his blog? He was planning generic “10 tips” content that could’ve belonged to anyone. So I planned something different. I am turning his brand story into a full-fledged blog strategy. Last year, when I did this for a hairstylist blog, it resulted in: 💡 2x more returning readers 💡 Blogs that were shared (and bookmarked!) 💡 Emails from customers saying: “It finally feels like you” Here’s how I am doing it and how you can too: 1. Start with your “why” What personal moment sparked your brand’s creation? That story deserves its own post. (It’s your foundation.) 2. Break your origin story into blog themes Founder struggles = mindset content Product journey = behind-the-scenes series Values = opinion pieces and purpose-led posts 3. Identify shared values between your brand and your customers Do they care about slowness? Clean living? Energy healing? Now, map blog content around those emotional anchors. 4. Weave emotion into educational content Turn “How to use face oil” into: “How a nighttime ritual helped me find calm after burnout” Readers remember stories. Google rewards depth. 5. Build blog categories that echo your brand pillars For my hair styling client, we created content around: ✨ Rituals ✨ Ingredients ✨ Customer's hair styling stories ✨ Founder stories ✨ Product education Suddenly, her blog didn’t just inform. It felt like her brand. You don’t need 100 ideas. You need one good story, told in 100 different ways. Want my help turning your story into a blog strategy that builds traffic, trust, and connection? I scaled my design agency to 7-figure ARR. And it's all thanks to organic content. Here's 7 content strategies that bring us leads every week 👇 1/ Sell outcomes, not design Founders buy results. Lower churn, higher conversions, better retention. Show them how good design impacts their bottom line. When you position design as a business investment instead of an expense, price objections disappear. 2/ Educate before you sell Most clients don't understand why design matters. Change their beliefs first, then pitch your solution. Create content that explains the "why" behind design decisions. Education builds trust faster than any sales pitch. 3/ Know your dream ICP Understand what they do, want, and what keeps them up at night. The more specific you get, the more your content feels personal. Do a proper client persona research first. (Below is an example of a psychographic research carried out by @ShukrDesign and a strategic audit done by one of our designers) 4/ Focus on one problem at a time Don't try to solve everything in one post. Pick real issues like: - Drop-offs during onboarding - Low demo bookings on pricing pages - Slow sites killing conversions Then break down exactly how you solved it. 5/ Show your thinking Turn your Figma files into content. Show your process: - How you approach problems - Why you made specific decisions - What alternatives you considered People pay for your thinking. 6/ Mix process with results This combination works perfectly: - Behind-the-scenes content builds curiosity - Case studies with results build trust Show the journey AND the destination. People want to see both how you work and what you achieve. 7/ Share your systems openly Why founders hire us over others? Not just because of our portfolio, but our systems. Great design is expected. Great systems are rare. Document your processes and share them. Transparency builds trust faster than secrecy. The best part about content marketing: - It works while you sleep. One thread can bring leads for weeks. One case study can close deals for years. Invest in content that showcases your expertise and watch qualified leads find you. As always, I hope this was helpful. Appreciate all the likes and comments. Enjoy your day! 👋

Let’s be honest: for many creatives, self-promotion can feel awkward. While you'd prefer your work to do the talking, that's simply not enough in today’s crowded marketplace. Here are 10 strategies that actually work— 1️⃣ Share Your Process – Take your audience behind the scenes. People love seeing how the magic happens. 2️⃣ Highlight Client Wins – Instead of just showcasing your work, share the success stories it’s created. 3️⃣ Collaborate with Others – Partner up with other creatives to cross-promote and expand your reach. 4️⃣ Offer Value-Driven Content – Share tips and insights from your area of expertise. Become the go-to expert in your niche. 5️⃣ Showcase Testimonials – Let your happy clients do the talking. Testimonials build instant credibility. 6️⃣ Create Case Studies – Walk people through a project from start to finish, highlighting the problem, solution, and outcome. 7️⃣ Share Your Journey – Be real. Share your challenges and growth as a creative—it makes you relatable. 8️⃣ Engage, Don’t Just Post – Interact with your audience. Respond to comments, ask questions, and start conversations. 9️⃣ Host Webinars or Workshops – Position yourself as a thought leader by teaching others. 🔟 Leverage Social Proof – Show when your work is published, featured, or mentioned elsewhere. Self-promotion doesn’t have to feel forced. It’s about sharing your value in a way that serves others.
