Formatting problem

[edit source]

0x09e3 and 0x0a83 characters distort the table looking with Opera 9 browser under Debian Linux 5.0. They make column "3" extreme wide. --193.6.222.47 (talk) 07:58, 8 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

And for me – Firefox 23.0.1 on Snow Leopard – column 9 is extra wide, but I can't tell which character is to blame. —Tamfang (discusscontribs) 07:26, 6 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Would adding appropriately formatted links to the page add value to the final product?

Idea: Include links to wikis that explain the character's idea and history. When reading the chart some characters seem unfamiliar. It would be helpful to see what the character is.

I'd be willing to put significant time into this if a proper formatting suggestion could be made.

Simply adding a hyperlink adds the link symbol after the character and changes the color to blue.

There should be a note telling about the link but the color should probably stay black for ease of reading.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Books should be self contained. External links should be used sparingly at Wikibooks, and not used as a substitute for missing material. If you think understanding the history of each character would benefit people wanting to learn Unicode, any links should be for new pages to be added to the book where the history for each character can be provided. Otherwise I suggest you find a website that already provides the history for all characters and include just one link under Unicode#Links to where the history for all characters can easily be found. --darklama 15:25, 20 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
How about a hover text that gives the official name of the character so that if all else fails, you would at least have an idea of what to look up? Its a starting point. 87.194.209.163 (discuss) 10:17, 30 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Telugu-Hangul mixup

[edit source]

Either it's my browser, or there are hangul characters in the telugu section. Probably needs a fix. 64.134.174.39 (discuss) 14:16, 2 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
