History
[edit]Early Development (2011–2018)
ASUS launched the ProArt series in 2011 with the PA246Q, a 24-inch P-IPS monitor positioned towards content creators requiring high color fidelity.[3][2] Subsequent notable display releases included the PQ321 in 2013[16] and the 32-inch quantum dot PA329Q in 2015.[17][18]The line later introduced OLED technology with the portable PQ22UC in 2018.[19][20][21]
In 2020, the PA32UCG was released, a model featuring Mini LED backlighting, HDR-1600 certification, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. This model was frequently positioned by reviewers as a reference-grade display suitable for HDR mastering and post-production.[22][23]
Expansion into Laptops and Components (2019–Present)
The ProArt brand expanded into the laptop segment starting in 2019. ASUS introduced the StudioBook series, including high-end models such as the ProArt Studiobook One and the ProArt Studiobook Pro X, establishing a full portfolio of laptops aimed at professional creatives.[24][25][26]
In 2023, ASUS extended the ProArt series beyond displays and laptops into PC components, including motherboards, graphics cards[27], AiO liquid coolers[28], and chassis[29]. These components are marketed with an emphasis on thermal management, low acoustic output, and professional aesthetic designs.
Industry Collaboration
ASUS has engaged in collaborations with third-party organizations such as Adobe, Dolby, and Pantone to ensure ProArt displays and computing components align with professional creative workflows.[30][31][32]
Laptop
[edit]The ProArt Studiobook is a series of mobile workstations developed by ASUS, primarily targeted at creative professionals in fields such as photography, animation, filmmaking, visual effects, game design, and architecture.[33][34]
The series is specified with powerful hardware, including NVIDIA Quadro or GeForce RTX graphics cards, ISV (Independent Software Vendor) certification for compatibility with professional applications[35][36], and OLED displays noted for their high color accuracy (often quoted with specific Delta E values).[37]
Many models in the Studiobook line are certified to meet US military-grade MIL-STD 810 durability standards, which indicates resilience against specific environmental and physical stress tests.[38]
The laptops feature unique physical interfaces such as the ASUS Dial, a rotary controller integrated into the chassis, and the ProArt Creator Hub software, which allows users to monitor system performance and customize controls for creative applications like those in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.[39][40][41][42]
In recent generations, the laptops have included AI-powered applications such as MuseTree (a visual ideation tool)[43] and StoryCube (a media management platform)[44], which are pre-bundled with the devices.[45]
2019 : The ProArt Studiobook series was first introduced in 2019 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), with the lineup marketed towards creative professionals.[46][47]Later that year, at IFA Berlin, ASUS expanded the range by launching the ProArt Studiobook One and the ProArt Studiobook Pro X.[48] The Studiobook One was noted by the company for being the first laptop to feature NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 graphics. The releases were described by the media as establishing a more complete portfolio of creator-focused laptops.[49]
2021 : ASUS marked a major revision for the ProArt Studiobook series, with the introduction of several key features. Updates included the integration of OLED displays, the ASUS Dial hardware controller, and the ProArt Creator Hub system monitoring and customization software.[50][51] These models also received NVIDIA Studio validation for enhanced software compatibility and system stability across creative applications.[52]
2023 : The ASUS ProArt StudioBook 16 H500 was described by reviewers as a powerful professional notebook due to its integration of a 10-bit OLED display and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics.[53][54]
2024 : ASUS introduced a new generation of ProArt laptops, including the ProArt P16[55], PX13[56], and PZ13[57], which incorporate AI features designed for content creation workflows. These models include proprietary software applications such as MuseTree and StoryCube, which are utilized for visual ideation and media management, respectively.
