About us

The Knight Center for the Future of News at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication is reimagining the future of journalism at a moment of profound change. Artificial intelligence is transforming every aspect of society. Public trust is at historic lows. Funding and independence face growing threats. Journalism is at an inflection point — and the time to act is now. Fueled by a visionary $10.5 million investment from the Knight Foundation and powered by ASU’s culture of innovation, the Knight Center is accelerating the transformation of journalism with courage, creativity, and clarity of purpose. The Center is built around three dynamic labs and an information hub that connect thought leaders, generate insights, and spread innovation. Through training, tools, support, and actionable intelligence, we’re helping journalists, educators, and media organizations adapt, lead, and thrive in the next era of news. Together, we’re shaping the future of journalism — one innovation at a time.
