Questions tagged [nmos]
A n-channel metal-oxide semiconductor (nMOS) transistor has n-type carriers in the channel. A positive voltage on the gate turns inverts the substrate (PWell) creating the channel and turning the device on. The term may also be used to describe logic circuits built around nMOS transistors.

What causes the ROUT of this NMOS cascode circuit to fall after around VOUT=1.5V?
I have the following circuit in Virtuoso: I've set I1 = 5uA, VCC = 2V, and Vb2 = 0.939V. Here's the graph of IOUT vs VOUT (running a DC sweep over VOUT from 0-2V): We can see that until around VOUT =...

Overvoltage protection circuit using TL431, 2N7002, and PMOS not giving expected output in LTspice
I went through an overvoltage protection circuit (schematic image attached) that uses a TL431, 2N7002 NMOS, and a PMOS (IPD380P06NMATMA1). The circuit is designed for a 13 V threshold. From my ...

Why does the plot of ROUT2 in this NMOS circuit look like this?
I have the following circuit: And I plotted the graphs of gm1, gmb1, and ROUT2 (in green) as I do a DC sweep on VIN from 0V (VSS) to 2V (VCC). (In Virtuoso, I defined ROUT2 as 1/gds2, which was ...

How to sketch VOUT vs VIN in this simple NMOS circuit? in DC - Large signal
I have the following circuit: I want to sketch the VOUT vs VIN for VIN from 0-2V. I know that Vg2 = 619mV, and VCC=2V. I start by checking M2 (as I have fewer variables with it). VGS2 = Vg2-0 = Vg2, ...

NMOS and PMOS in a series with VDD as voltage source, what will be the voltage between them?
I have an argument with a friend regarding the voltage between N and P and the voltage at OUT. I say that for A = '1' and B = '0': If Kn > Kp, so the voltage between the NMOS and PMOS is Vdd-Vtn ...
