The IRENA Youth Forum 2026 will mark the eighth edition of the International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) flagship platform for youth empowerment, intergenerational dialogue, and renewable energy innovation.
IRENA will convene government representatives, practitioners and experts under the Collaborative Framework on Just and Inclusive Energy Transitions to discuss strategies for ensuring workers and communities benefit from the energy transition, focusing on social inclusion, public engagement and fair benefit distribution.
IRENA, through the Global Geothermal Alliance, will host a virtual workshop to support South East Europe stakeholders in assessing geothermal energy potential for decarbonising heating, cooling, and agri-food sectors through resource assessment tools, regulatory frameworks, and case studies.

Every other week, presenters from one of IRENA’s teams – either alone or together with invited guests – will provide focused insights into opportunities, trends, best practices and innovative solutions to address challenges, signpost further sources of more in-depth information and provide an opportunity to engage with IRENA’s experts through Q&A sessions.
The fifth meeting of IRENA's Collaborative Framework on Critical Materials for the Energy Transition will convene governments, industry leaders, and experts to discuss innovations in EV batteries, focusing on supply chain sustainability, circularity, recycling systems, and ESG integration to support tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030.
IRENA will conduct a four-day capacity-building workshop in Uganda to support stakeholders in developing geothermal direct-use applications for the agri-food sector, with practical training on policy, regulation, technology, and finance leading to a roadmap for pilot demonstration projects.
IRENA hosted a workshop to launch SolarCity simulators for Grenada, enabling homeowners, investors, and project developers to assess rooftop solar PV potential, policy incentives, and achieve carbon neutral goals.

COP30 aims to align climate finance commitments between developed and developing nations, ensure emission targets meet scientific standards, and address socio-economic impacts on vulnerable populations.
IRENA and the LDES Council hosted a webinar that brought together field experts and system operators to explore the role and value of Long-Duration Energy Storage in enabling reliable, cost-efficient power systems as the world transitions to high shares of variable renewable energy.
