Yuelei is a senior videographer and editor at Business Insider, where they have worked on numerous shows including Risky Business, Food Tours, Food Wars, Big Business, Movies Insider, Colossal Collections, So Expensive, How Real Is It, and Fast Food Chemistry.

Their work has taken them from studio sets — showing how realistic animatronics are made for movies and TV and how Modern Warfare II became the most realistic Call of Duty game — to excavation sites documenting how four million fossils are processed at La Brea Tar Pits. They've traveled across LA to find the best smash burger, taco, sandwich, burrito, ramen, and sushi the city of stars has to offer. They've reported on massive industrial operations to reveal how ultra-processed bread and baby food is made, and delved into some of the harshest environments in the world, from children working in Syria’s “Valley of Death” to Syria’s deadliest prison. Their reporting has also taken them to remote corners of the Global South, capturing how truck drivers in India navigate one of the most dangerous roads in the world and why shellfish hunters in Peru risk their lives for a special ceviche.

In 2022, Yuelei was selected for Poynter’s prestigious TV Power Reporting Academy. Before joining Business Insider, they worked in short-form narrative filmmaking as an Outfest Outset 2021 Fellow, and in marketing with various beauty brands, building a rich and versatile foundation in visual storytelling.
